Beautifully fine wool etamine scarf hand printed sustainably with Eucalyptus Nicholli from my own garden [SC173].
 
The scarf has been handprinted  and with love by bundling the eucalyptus leaves tightly with the wool and steaming in my trusty fish kettle.
 
The heat and moisture applied by steaming releases the eucalyptus pigments and transfers them to the wool fibres which capture the dye under their tiny scales, which close on cooling. Pure natural magic!
 
The wool etamine [wool gauze]  is surprisingly cool in the summer and warm in the winter.. this is an ideal accessory which keeps the sun off your shoulders or fends off those chilly draughts. It is just perfect to add to your daytime clothes for an evening out.
