About Maggie

Maggie Pearson is a textile artist living and practising in Liverpool. In her botanical contact  printing [also known as "eco" printing], she uses leaves principally from the City of Liverpool to create unique, one-of-a-kind hand printed designs on natural fibres.... fabric and paper. She draws her inspiration from Liverpool's rich natural environment and botanical diversity.

Each of Maggie's unique pieces is individually designed and lovingly printed by hand. She bundles locally grown flowers and leaves with natural fibres and steams them over water, or simmers them in a dye bath, to create her individual prints. She also makes and uses natural dyes, and prints with rust and indigo.

Maggie delivers introductory and more advanced workshops on botanical contact printing online and in person and also undertakes commissions.

If you see something here which you like, in the gallery of photos or sold in the shop, or don't quite see what you are looking for, then please contact Maggie by email at hello@bymaggienaturally.co.uk  to discuss your requirements.

Fundraising for Refugees

It's all too easy to feel powerless against dreadful world event such as those unfolding in Ukraine right now, and continuing in too many  other parts of the world. I've decided that one thing I can do is raise funds for Choose Love, a charity which works with partners in over 22 countries to campaign for, and meet the needs of, people displaced or forced to flee totally by brutal conflict.

A New Collection of Bags from Upcycled Fabric

Using wholly upcycled materials [except the zips!] and some of my hand printed botanical prints, I've been making tote bags and zipped pouches [pattern design by Sarah of In Complete Stitches] and selling them to raise funds.

It's been a GREAT use of my family's old jeans, unwanted shirts and discarded duvet covers. I've also thrown in some waste upholstery fabric which someone palmed off on me, and made a collection of bags and pouches which have made a small contribution to reducing the size of landfill!

You can find these in the 'For You and Your Home' page of my shop.
I'll be donating 20% of all proceeds from the sales of bags and pouches to Choose Love from now on.
