Live Workshops

 

Over the summer of 2021, when COVID restrictions have allowed, I have run a live workshops at Sefton Park Palm House in Liverpool, and the Eco Pod at Park View 4U in Lytham. I have more planned at these venues for 2022, and will give a full refund of the course and materials fees if I have to cancel due to COVID.

Botanical Contact ['Eco'] Printing:

An Introduction

Beat the February blues with a relaxing day in the magical environment of the Grade II* listed Palm House in Sefton Park, Liverpool 17

 

You will learn the principles and basic practice of botanical contact ['eco'] printing, printing a scarf of peace silk* with onion skins and at least one stack of papers with leaves. We will use both, steaming and simmering, as processing methods. 

 

Full refund of course and material fees if cancelled due to COVID. [Eventbrite booking fees are not refundable]. 

*silk worms are allowed to live their full life course before the silk is harvested from the cocoon..

A Spanner in the Works:

Iron and Botanical Contact ['Eco'] Printing

Enjoy a relaxing day in the magical environment of the Grade II* listed Palm House in Sefton Park, Liverpool 17, exploring the role of iron in the creation of striking botanical contact ['eco'] prints

Whist having fun in an enchanting environment, you will learn the key principles which underpin the practice of this captivating art. Working with fabric and paper, you will learn about the interaction of iron with tannin to c create well defined leaf prints and striking backgrounds. 

There will be plenty of time for discussion and to soak up the environment of the Palm House.  Participant numbers are restricted to enable social distancing.

Materials [value £15] are included in the workshop fee, which also includes tea and coffee, provided all day. There is a cafe at the Palm House where you can buy specialist teas, coffees and snacks [or you can bring your own].

 

If the workshop is cancelled due to COVID, the course and material fees will be fully refunded. [The EVentbrite booking fee is not refundable].
