About the event
Explore the printing potential of leaves, in this relaxing and inspiring workshop in my well stocked garden in south Liverpool.
Building on the principles and practice of botanical contact ['eco'] printing, you will explore the printing potential of leaves, including euycalyptus, submerged in a 'dirty pot' rich in natural tannins and iron.
Whilst having fun in a relaxed and green environment, you will learn about differences between leaves and why they differ in their ability to make prints. You will print at least one piece of wool or peace silk large enough for a small scarf, or cotton to cover a handmade book, and at least one stack or roll of papers. We will work in a small marquee.
There will be plenty of time for discussion and to forage and enjoy the surrounding plants and trees.
All necessary materials [worth £20] are included in the workshop fee, which also includes a light vegetarian lunch and refreshments all day.
You can purchase extra pieces of wool, peace silk or cotton to print if you wish, on the day.
