About the event

Explore the printing potential of summer leaves in a relaxing and inspiring workshop at my home in south Liverpool and its well stocked garden.

Building on your knowledge of the principles and practice of botanical contact ['eco'] printing, you will explore the printing potential of different summer leaves, and ways to enhance the definition and colour of your leaves and prints.

Whilst having fun in a small group and relaxing environment, you will learn about differences between leaves and why they differ in their ability to make prints. Having printed some samples with different leaves and natural dyes, you will print at least one piece of fabric large enough for a small scarf, and at least one stack of papers. On the second day you will be able to print items of your choice.

Participant numbers for the workshop are restricted to five, to maximise your experience. A minimum of three students  is normally required for a workshop to run. Given the small size of the group, there will be plenty of time for detailed tuition and discussion.

Workshop fee includes all mordants and dyes and some prepared materials [worth £40], tea & coffee all day and a light vegetarian lunch each day. If you prefer, you may bring your own lunch. A vegan lunch can be provided if required.

For pieces to print on the second day, you will be strongly encouraged to bring your own scoured fabric [details will be given after booking], or may purchase prepared fabric from me if preferred.

People who've been on my workshops have said:

"Thanks again for a brilliant workshop on Tuesday. My head is buzzing with future projects." [Susan]

"Thank you very much for a great day and for all you do to help us to produce some lovely prints.

Thanks too, for the lovely lunch and your hospitality throughout the day. I thoroughly enjoyed it." [Chris]

PLEASE NOTE: I can recommend overnight accomodation, if required.
